Question :
What is the meaning if the ‘Aqeeqah of the newborn child, and is it Fardh (obligatory) or Sunnah (supererogatory)?

Answer :
The ‘Aqeeqah of the newborn child is the sacrificial animal that is slaughtered in seeking nearness to Allaah and thanking Him for the blessing of the newborn child on the 7th day after its birth. The people of knowledge have differed over whether it is Sunnah or Fardh. (more…)

Question :

What is the ruling on a person urinating while standing, is it forbidden or permissible?

Answer :

It is not forbidden for a person to urinate while standing, because it has been authentically reported by al Bukhari and Muslim, on the authority of Huthaifah, may Allah be please with him, that the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) came to the rubbish pit of a people and urinated while standing (al-Bukhari no.226). What Great Sin is?

Question:

“Can we give an appraisal on the sins that have never existed before as a great sins?”

Answer:

It is undoubtful that there are two kinds of sins, great sins and small sins.

إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ وَنُدْخِلْكُمْ مُدْخَلًا كَرِيمًا

If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall expiate from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (Paradise).

… Likewise I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, those between whom there is an agreement (of protection) for you. For the land in which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers. And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said,

Whoever kills one who is under and agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.

Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people, those who say “Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us (to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing).” For by Allaah (more…)
